Employees may be eligible for federal or state student loan forgiveness and repayment programs, including Public Service Loan Forgiveness and Hawaiʻi-based loan repayment opportunities for healthcare professionals.
Public Service Loan Forgiveness
Hawaii Health Systems Corporation is a qualifying public service employer for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
Eligible employees may be able to receive forgiveness of remaining federal student loan balances after meeting program requirements. Employees are encouraged to review the federal program guidelines and contact Human Resources for more information.
State Loan Repayment Programs
State loan repayment programs may also be available for eligible health care professionals in Hawaiʻi.
These programs are designed to support recruitment and retention in health care by helping qualified professionals repay eligible education loans. Employees and applicants are encouraged to review current program information and eligibility requirements.
