Family education is at the heart of care in our mother and infant unit, before, during and after birth. Your baby will room in with you throughout your hospital stay so you feel confident and comfortable caring for your baby once you’re home.

Preparing for Your Stay

  • Take a tour — Tours are available for expecting families ahead of delivery.
  • Preregister — At about 36 weeks, arrange to preregister online, in person or by calling Patient Access.
  • Enroll in a prenatal class — West Hawaii Region offers a four-week class taught by certified childbirth educators.
  • What to bring — A car seat (required before you can go home with your baby), going-home clothes, blankets for you and baby and toiletry items for your stay.

For information about Prenatal Classes, call (808) 322-4416
